This week Samuel Sheldon Ltd have carried on with existing building projects and took lots of new calls regarding quotes for new projects.

One project we are excited to start shortly is a conversion of a former library in Ulverston, Cumbria. This new project will consist of a new three-bed flat on the first floor of the building and a new bar/restaurant on the ground floor. This new project is a big project for Samuel Sheldon Ltd and is a chance to show the public of Cumbria the excellent work standards we can carry out.

Let’s look at the building projects in progress and how they are coming along.

We are still working on the three-storey house refurbishment in Coniston, Cumbria. The PVC windows are now ready to be fitted throughout the property. Once the plasterboarding is complete, the team will be getting ready to complete the kitchen and bathroom.

We are also completing the house refurbishment in Askam, Cumbria. This customer has chosen custom-made fittings and bespoke gas and electric boxes throughout the property. These jobs are ready to be completed this week.

We have a few small jobs currently being completed by a few team members. These consist of rendering a few houses around the Copeland areas and a garage base in Broughton.

The ongoing garages in Finch Street, Millom, are ready to have the back wall installed; we will provide more of an update once the work progresses.

This week Samuel Sheldon Ltd has started a new project building superior garages in Finch Street. Millom. This building project will also consist of running water and electricity throughout them. The concrete foundations are complete and ready for the next stage of installing the utilities and building the surrounding walls.

We have taken a good amount of new clients on over the past month for summer building projects. Our team travelled to Barrow in Furness, Windermere, Ulverston and Ravenglass. These projects include a new patio, roofing services, and house extensions, including a conservatory/sunroom.

The Beach hut being built at Silecroft is tidied up on the outside ready for a hot tub to be delivered, and the inside is near completion with the kitchen now fitted.

This week Samuel Sheldon Ltd are concentrating on the beach cabin at Silecroft. The kitchen has now been installed and completed with solid oak worktops throughout. T & G cladding has been used to cover the walls to create the classic beach cabin look.

Plastering is complete at Askam. The team is now ready to install the new kitchen and bathroom. we will also be using solid oak on stairs, flooring, skirtings, and doors

The complete house refurbishment at Coniston is still ongoing, but the team will be plaster-boarding the walls, ready for fresh plaster next week.

Samuel Sheldon Ltd has recently started another big project of a complete house refurbishment of a Victorian three-storey terraced house in Coniston, Cumbria. This building project has only just started, and there is a lot of work to be completed. The team at Samuel Sheldon Ltd has already begun to work on the roofing services required, including the old roof being removed and new felt and battens being installed and a Velux roof light. Inside the house will require damp proofing and tanking throughout the ground floor, damp proofing and tanking throughout the ground floor, and complete plastering throughout the property.

Thermal upgrades will be made to the roof and the external walls; this is to improve the property’s thermal efficiency. Also, a full electrical rewire inside the property will be carried out to meet modern standards. Samuel Sheldon Ltd Millom follow all safety regulations and guidelines; information on this can be provided upon request. The house will also benefit from a new electric heating and hot water system. Outside of the property will have new fascia, gutters, and downpipes.  The outdoor living room window has original brickwork art that Samuel Sheldon Ltd will restore to keep the fantastic features. A new bathroom will be installed alongside an on-suite shower room for one of the main bedrooms. New PVC windows and doors will be fitted throughout the property, and the rendering on the rear of the property is to be completed as well. Samuel Sheldon Ltd in Millom has been busy working on a building project in Butler Street, Millom. The building project has come along really well in the past 4 weeks alone. When the building project first started the superstructure was non-existent. This is now complete and is ready to be plastered and rendered on the outside. The roofing has now also been completed. To finish the roof we had to reduce the window size above to allow for a higher internal head height. Last week the team fitted a UPVC entrance door to the extension. There are still the internal doors to be fitted as well as windows, alongside this the wet room is ready to be installed in the next few days. Last but not least woodwork is to be completed throughout the extension.

This week Samuel Sheldon Ltd have been working on a different building project in Ulverston, Cumbria. Before the building project started, this building was formerly a café with office space upstairs. Samuel Sheldon Ltd is now working on the upstairs by turning it into a maisonette. This has consisted of two new bathroom refurbishments and a kitchen refurbishment. The owner of the property has been delighted with how the project has come along and has also asked Samuel Sheldon Ltd to carry out a loft conversion for them with new dormer windows installed.

A few weeks ago we wrote a blog about a house extension we are working on in Butler Street, Millom. The building project is coming along nicely and on time. This week we have had to reduce a window size to allow extra thickness installation on the roof. Floor joists have been fitted as this extension will be having a warm deck roof. There will be more updates as we progress more on this project.
